Pantry make over!

I have been thinking about how life can get messy sometimes. I like a lot of people get overwhelmed sometimes. This week was one of those weeks. Something that should have taken just a few hours took two days! Making over the panty wasn't hard, It was actually easy and kind of fun. It was just all the other stuff that life gave me that was the hard part. I think that is just a reminder to be ok with the chaos. Be friends with your own brain, that sometimes, it forgets it is not your childhood bully. Remind it that we are all friend and move on the best you can.

The pantry was, in a funny way, how I was feeling about myself. Dark, messy, unorganized and unable to find what I needed.

I started by pulling everything out of the pantry. As you can see it was a mess.  I have three sheavles and then the floor where we keep extra cases of water and sodas. I wiped down all of the shelves and walls as well as the door. I used wall paper sheets from the dollar tree on the doors and walls. I used leftover shelf liner from the Kicthen Island make over to line the shelves with. I installed battery operated pop lights to help was well.

I repurporsed most of my containers. I did buy this two drew system that I love.  I think it works great for my canned good and boxed items. You may look at the photo and ask your self where are all the snacks. I keep all that on what I call the coffee bar area. It is also where I keep all our dishes. On the top shevle of the pantry I keep my flour, oatmeal and sugars. Second self in the rest of the baking thing, cake mixs, pudding, peanut butter and that sort of thing. on the bottom shelve I keep out canned veggies, sauces, soups and rice anything I use to make dinner really.

This pantry make over only cost about $45. The two drawer unit was most of that at $31 and then $14 for the paper and pop lights. I think that is really good for a brighter pantry.
